Andi and Gracie

We've been trying to teach Andi how to gently pet the dogs and trying to teach the dogs how to be patient with Andi. So far, the dogs are doing better with their part then Andi is! She's so interested in them right now that we thought it was time to start working on this. Last night, she did really well petting Gracie, our Weimaraner. She was sitting in the floor with her Daddy, and Gracie laid down by them. Andi leaned over and started "petting" Gracie. It was so sweet. If you look closely, you can see Andi's two bottom teeth in one of the pictures! (click on it to make it larger) So cute!

Yucky Peas!

Well, we tried peas tonight, and I have to say...she's NOT a fan! She literally ate a couple of bites and gagged! It was so sad. So, I guess we'll try them another time.

Here are a couple of pictures of the unpleasantness!

Balancing Act

Andi and Cody were playing in the floor today with her blocks. He kept putting blocks on her head, and she thought it was funny! She'd let it balance for a minute and then turn her head so they'd fall off. It was cute to watch. I got the cutest picture of her that I just had to share-so here it is!

1st Veggie!

I decided to make my first batch of baby food today! I made sweet potatoes, peas, and green beans. It was actually fun! It took a little time, but it definitely saved us money and will as long as I can continue to do it! I'm anxious to make some other foods!

Andi has been on cereal for a little while now so we introduced her first veggie today: sweet potatoes! You could tell she wasn't really sure what to think about them, but she ate most of what I prepared. It wasn't as messy as I had imaged it would be either!

1st Cereal Experience

We started Andi on cereal today! She wasn't sure what to think about it. She ate some of it, but most of it came right back out of her mouth. It made for a cute photo op though! Hopefully a little more will get into her mouth and swallowed each day! Gotta put those pounds on and this just isn't gonna cut it! Here are some cute (but messy) photos of her eating her 1st bowl of cereal!Today was also her first time to sit in her high chair. She enjoyed that-thought it was very relaxing as you see here! She tried to use the spoon herself at one point too! What an exciting day!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day! Andi is definitely having a good 1st Valentine's Day! She got cards from several family members today, and her Gran Gran (Cody's grandma) sent her a cute onesie and teddy bear. We got her a Love Bug-a cute pink and green bug that jingles and can be chewed on. Even though they weren't meant to be chewed on, she had to sample the cards her Grammy and Grand Bea sent her!

Andi and I made her Daddy his favorite cake and a cute card too!

Here are some pictures of her 1st Valentine's Day!

6 Month Check-up

Andi had her 6 month check-up this afternoon. The pediatrician said she was "just perfect!" She was glad that the only visits we've made since Andi was born were for her well baby check-ups. We've been blessed with a healthy baby! Andi is doing well! She is now 25 3/4 inches long and weighs 14 lbs. 15 oz. She's grown 1/2 an inch and gained 11 oz. since her 4 month check up. According to the pediatrician, her growth was good, but we didn't see the kind of growth we had seen between her other check-ups. She suggested that we start solid foods to keep her growing like she needs to. We had planned to do so after this appt. anyway. I'm anxious to see how she will like different foods! Not really ready for the messy feedings, but I guess it's part of it! I'm sure we'll be posting some funny pictures of her eating in the near future! No post is complete without a picture so here she is playing in the floor from earlier today.

6 Months Old and Her 2nd Tooth!

Happy 6 Month Birthday Andi! I can't believe she's 6 months old! It's going so quickly! And, I felt her 2nd tooth coming in today too! She's changing so much!

Here she is playing with her Daddy and her blocks.

And here she is posing for the camera!

Here she is after church this Sunday. It was warm so we pulled out the short sleeved dress and cute red slip on shoes. I love this dress! Notice her tongue hanging out of her mouth. She can't keep it off her new teeth!

We got her Elmo Live out today. She just watched him very closely. Smiled a time or two, but I don't think she knows what to think of him just yet. I'm sure she'll love him one day though!

Rolling Over and a Tooth!

Andi finally rolled over last week! I didn't actually see it the first 2 times she did it though. I laid her on her back on the floor turned away for a minute, and when I looked back, she was on her belly! Her face showed that she was as surprised as I was! It was really cute! I have since seen her do it, and it's so fun to watch. Now she rolls from her back to her belly and then to her back again. It's really funny!

She also started cutting her first tooth on Saturday, Jan. 30th. I checked for one on Friday just because I was curious, but there was nothing. Then Saturday evening she was chewing on my finger and I felt a sharp point when she bit down. We looked and it's a very small corner of her bottom right front tooth! It's so exciting! She's been chewing and drooling a lot, but she hasn't been unusually fussy or run fever at all so that's great! Can't wait to see what she looks like with a tooth! I'm posting some recent pictures of her for your enjoyment!
